writing side hustles

Our conventional lifestyles, habits, and working conditions have changed a lot since 2020.

The unemployment rate in the USA skyrocketed to 16% in November 2020, according to the US Bureau of Labour Statistics.

For the majority, their jobs are the only income source that helps to feed their families and stay afloat. What happens if it disappears? Panic, desperation, hunger. These are just a few reasons anyone could experience running out of money.

The pandemic taught us one essential lesson — having one income source is risky. You never know what might happen tomorrow and how much the world can change in seconds.

I’ve been employed as a full-time marker for several years. I never had a side hustle because I never believed I could run one. Apparently, I can.

I looked up a side gig to secure myself financially and become less dependent on one income source.

I was happy to discover Medium, Vocal Media, Gumroad, Upwork, and many other platforms that provide opportunities for people to make money online.

I’ve been writing online since March 2020. It’s challenging, but I’ve never felt so happy before. I reached over 300,000 readers with my content on Medium in a year and built this website to share my learnings and show it’s possible.

Top side hustles you can start in 2023

The list below is a collection of my stories about proven writing side gigs, side hustle ideas, step-by-step guides, and results you can achieve if you decide to step out of your comfort zone.
