If you are searching for Mangools alternatives, you probably want to switch to other SEO tools.

Now, the question is, which one?

There are hundreds of SEO tools for various purposes, such as all-in-one, keyword research, technical, AI tools for SEO, and more!

However, you need to pick only one that will fit your needs and perform better than Mangools.

As an SEO expert, I’ve used dozens of tools, including Mangools. I’ve even shared my insights about it in my Mangools review. In a nutshell, it delivers on its promise, but it’s not for everyone.

I stopped using Mangools and looked for an alternative because I needed a more reliable tool for keyword research. Besides, I needed a more comprehensive toolkit for site audit. Eventually, I switched to Semrush and have been using its free and paid plans.

If you are looking for powerful and affordable alternatives to Magools, I’ve outlined several options below that are similar to Mangools, feature-rich, but perform better.

I’ve used all these tools in the past. Therefore, this blog post is based on my expert opinion and experience.

I’ve included this summary for your convenience, but if you need a more in-depth review, keep reading the article.

Top 5 Mangools alternatives to consider in 2024

Unlike most similar listicles, I don’t want to feature 10, 20, or even more tools. Why force my readers to scroll through endless content and leave them confused at the end?

You can’t have dozens of “best Mangools alternatives.” They can’t be the best at everything.

In fact, just a few tools can do a better job than Mangools.

Here they are.

  1. Semrush
  2. Ahrefs Webmaster Tools
  3. Moz Pro
  4. Ubersuggest
  5. Backlinko Keyword Tool

1. Semrush

  • Suitable for: Online marketing teams, SEO agencies, site owners
  • Free trial: 7 days
  • Pricing: Starts at $139.95 monthly
  • Why use: Feature-rich, reliable data

semrush

Semrush is a comprehensive online marketing platform that helps businesses improve online visibility.

It offers a wide range of tools for tasks such as keyword research, competitor analysis, SEO audits, content optimization, content writing, social media management, and paid advertising.

Semrush has been operating since 2008 and remains one of the most powerful SEO tools on the market, with 55+ features for online marketing teams.

I’ve occasionally used Semrush since 2015 to manage my client projects and experiment with their features. Back then, the Semrush seemed quite complex for beginners. That’s why I temporarily switched to Ahrefs and Mangools. However, Ahrefs has significantly changed its pricing model, while Mangools’ data didn’t seem quite accurate. That’s why I switched back to Semrush.

In my opinion, Semrush offers the most comprehensive online marketing toolkit, which can be used by an entire marketing team.

I’ve primarily used their SEO features, which helped me get accurate data about my website performance even on a free plan.

In particular, I’ve been actively using their Keyword Overview Tool, which I can totally recommend if you regularly conduct keyword research on your website or client websites.

Unlike Mangools, Semrush’s keyword overview report contains more valuable insights such as:

  • Keyword global and location-based search volume
  • Keyword difficulty on a scale from 0 to 100
  • Search intent
  • Competitive density
  • Cost per click
  • Search trends
  • Related questions and keywords

Since Semrush has a free version, you can generate up to 10 keyword reports daily for free. This might be enough for website owners who plan to use Semrush to grow their websites.

Semrush has many unique features to help you grow your website faster, which Mangools doesn’t offer, such as Keyword Magic Tools

This is one of my favorite Semrush tools, and it helps generate thousands of keywords from one seed keyword. This way, you can easily find keywords that your website can realistically rank for and have search potential.

In addition to powerful keyword research tools, one more report sets Semrush apart from Mangools—the site audit report.

It is insightful for individual site owners and companies managing multiple client websites simultaneously.

The site audit report shows the up-to-date technical issues, warnings, and notices on your website split into several categories:

  • Crawling issues
  • HTTPS-relates issues
  • Internal linking issues
  • Markup issues
  • Site performance issues
  • International SEO issues
  • Issues related to Core Web Vitals

Based on my experience, Semrush can identify lots of website-related issues. However, that doesn’t mean all of them require your attention.

I recommend reviewing Semrush’s top issues list and prioritizing issues depending on your time and resource availability.

I’ve only covered several Semrush features that I use based on their effectiveness and data reliability.

However, Semrush has much more to offer, depending on your business goals. Therefore, I recommend checking my in-depth Semrush review to dive deeper into its functionality, pros, cons, and benefits.

2. Ahrefs Webmaster Tools

  • Suitable for: Individual site owners
  • Free trial: N/a
  • Pricing: It’s a free tool
  • Why use: A reliable tool for site owners to track the performance of their websites

Ahrefs Webmaster Tools

Ahrefs is the first SEO tool I tried in 2015, and I have been actively using it since then.

Even though I’ve heard different opinions about Ahrefs and its data reliability, I’ve heavily relied on Ahrefs to grow my website and help my clients.

In particular, I’ve used Ahrefs to:

  • Conduct keyword research
  • Track keyword rankings
  • Analyze how organic traffic changes depending on the number of website pages
  • Track technical issues on my website
  • Analyse competitors’ top-performing pages
  • Track old and new referring domains
  • And much more!

So, if you are looking for a decent Mangools alternative, Ahrefs is a go-to solution for all SEO-related needs.

However, Ahrefs has significantly increased its prices and introduced a credit system, which might be confusing. In particular, you can be charged extra if you go beyond the limits of your monthly plan. It happened to me several times since I’ve heavily used Ahrefs’ Keyword Explorer tool.

To avoid paying extra the next time, I switched to Semrush, which has a transparent payment system, and started using Ahrefs Webmasters Tool (AWT).

Ahrefs Webmasters Tool is a limited version of Ahrefs specifically developed for website owners. If you prove your website ownership, you can use AWT for free

In my case, I proved my website ownership via Google Search Console and created a free AWT account that I’ve been using daily to track my website performance.

Below you can see the AWT dashboard, which includes:

  • The domain rating of your website
  • The number of referring backlinks and domains
  • The number of keywords your website ranks for in organic search results
  • Monthly organic traffic estimate
  • Paid keywords and traffic
  • How the number of pages on your website correlates with organic traffic
  • Traffic estimates based on location
  • The number of crawled and indexed pages
  • HTTP codes and errors, if any

It’s worth noting a popular Ahrefs tool, Keyword Explorer, isn’t available in the AWT.  So, you won’t be able to conduct keyword research or analyze competitors.

Instead, you can use AWT to track your website performance, report on your SEO progress, and analyze the “health” condition of your website daily.

If you are a small website owner or a startup with a brand new website, I highly encourage you to create an AWT account because it’s free and very informative. It’s a valuable addition to Google Search Console that can help you better understand how your website performs and whether it grows over time.

3. Moz Pro

  • Suitable for: Marketing agencies, SEO companies, startups
  • Free trial: 30 days
  • Pricing: Starts at $49/month
  • Why use: An affordable and all-in-one SEO tool

Moz

Moz is the first SEO tool that many SEOs have used since 2004. Back then, I had no clue about SEO. Besides, the most popular SEO tools of nowadays, like Semrush and Ahrefs, were not even available.

Nevertheless, Moz has already been educating SEO communities and experts worldwide since then and offering them a powerful SEO toolkit to help them grow their websites.

Even though Moz seems to be less popular nowadays, I believe it provides decent features for beginner SEOs, startups, and established SEO companies.

I’ve used MOZ for quite a while to conduct keyword research.

If you are just starting, you can try Moz Pro for 30 days for free. In my experience, it’s enough to test all features and decide whether they work for you.

Nowadays, I mainly use Moz’s free plan, which lets you conduct 10 free monthly searches. It’s enough to quickly check any keyword and find related keywords.

However, you must upgrade to a paid plan if you need to conduct extensive keyword research for your website or client websites. Moz’s most affordable plan costs $49 monthly — the same as Mangools.

Unlike Mangools, Moz offers way more helpful SEO features.

For example, you can use Moz’s On-page Grader to analyze your existing content, see to what extent it’s optimized for rankings, and get actionable improvement suggestions.

Moreover, Moz offers a solid toolkit for competitor research, which includes keyword gap analysis that lets you discover keywords your competitors rank for but you don’t. Moreover, you can analyze competitors’ top-performing content and steal the best ideas to optimize your SEO strategy.

4. Ubersuggest

  • Suitable for: Individual website owners, small companies, small SEO agencies
  • Free trial: 7 days
  • Pricing: Starts at $29/month
  • Why use: An affordable SEO tool for beginners

Ubersuggest

You might know that Ubersuggest is one of the SEO tools co-founded by Neil Patel.

Originally, Ubersuggest was a free tool for niche keyword research. However, its functionality has expanded over time.

Nowadays, Ubersuggest can be named as an all-in-one SEO tool, similar to Moz, Semrush, and Mangools.

In addition to a robust keyword research toolkit, you can use Ubersuggest to:

  • Track your overall website performance in organic search
  • Automatically conduct a site audit and discover critical errors
  • Analyze competitors’ organic traffic
  • Discover competitors’ top-performing pages (my favorite tool)
  • Check competitors’ backlink profiles
  • Find backlink opportunities for your website
  • Get keyword ideas based on your domain, niche, and target location (a promising tool)
  • Use AI to generate content for your website

As you can see, Ubersuggest has a lot of valuable tools for SEO experts that can make it a go-to Mangools alternative

I’ve used Ubersuggest for years to track my website performance because it provides a versatile SEO toolkit and a lucrative pricing plan for individual website owners (more about it later).

So, if you are just starting out or looking for an affordable tool, I recommend checking Ubersuggest.

You can benefit from a 7-day free trial and continue using Ubersuggest’s free plan after it expires.

I encourage linking Ubersuggest to your Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4 account to get more accurate measurements. This way, you can track organic traffic and rankings, and get on-page optimization ideas right inside your dashboard, even if you use a free plan.

For instance, you can see my rank tracking dashboard below.

One of the reasons I’ve been using Ubersuggest’s Rank Tracking tool is its user-friendly dashboard with informative charts, which let you immediately assess your website’s current state.

It’s worth mentioning that you can create one project for one website and track up to 30 keywords for free, which is an excellent opportunity for new websites.

Now, let’s talk about pricing.

Unlike many SEO tools, Ubersuggest is an affordable tool. The Individual plan is just $29 monthly and is specifically tailored for individual website owners. You can track one website, up to five competitors, 125 keywords, and up to 2,000 backlinks.

If you manage more sites, consider upgrading to the Business plan for $49 monthly.

5. Backlinko Keyword Tool

  • Suitable for: Individual website owners
  • Free trial: N/a
  • Pricing: It’s a free tool
  • Why use: Reliable keyword data provided by Semrush

backlinko free keyword tool

Backlinko is one of the top SEO resources for experts originally created and promoted by Brian Dean.

In January 2022, Semrush acquired Backlinko. Here’s how Semrush described the purpose of the deal:

The desire to acquire Backlinko was fueled by Semrush’s commitment to inspiring both the current and next generation of digital marketers. Today’s marketers require not only the highest quality tools, they also need best-in-class training from real experts and practitioners in the field.

Semrush

Since the moment of acquisition, Semrush has taken over Backlinko’s content production effort and has started promoting its toolkit more heavily.

Backlinko’s team has also created a free keyword research tool powered by Semrush for SEO beginners and small website owners.

If you have a keyword idea, simply type it into the Backlinko Keyword Tool and hit “Find Keywords.

Backlinko will generate a report using Semrush’ Keyword Magic Tool with keyword volumes, keyword difficulty, cost-per-click, and the overall search trend.

Even though the tool has limited functionality and can’t be used for robust keyword research, you can always refer to it for quick and unlimited keyword checks. For comparison, Semrush provides only 10 free searches per day.

So, this is an excellent and reliable alternative to expensive keyword research tools.

How to choose the most suitable Mangools alternative

Even though I’ve tried to narrow down my list to the best Mangools alternatives, you still have to make a decision.

While picking the most suitable tool, consider your specific needs and budget

This means evaluating SEO tools’ features, such as keyword research, backlink analysis, rank tracking, and defining which features you currently need for your business.

I recommend comparing pricing plans to find affordable options. It might happen that you don’t need the most expensive tool, since the more affordable ones can totally cover your needs.

As a next step, I suggest testing tools with free trials to assess their usability and effectiveness, data accuracy, and depth.

As an SEO expert, I frequently use every tool mentioned in this article. I know their pros, cons, and effectiveness. That’s why I highlighted them as the top alternatives to Mangools

If you are an SEO agency or a small company trying to grow its marketing department, I’d suggest checking Semrush for its 55+ digital marketing tools.

If you are an individual website owner, take a closer look at Ubersuggest.

Good luck with your SEO endeavours!
