ContentShake AI is a content writing tool for SEO that can help you create content, build content briefs, optimize what you’ve already written, and more.
I used it earlier while working on other articles for my website, but I never wrote a detailed review of it.
Well, it’s time to change that.
I’ve explored all the features in the ContentShake AI dashboard, including:
- SEO content briefs
- Article optimization
- Writing articles from scratch
- Social media posts
In my review below, I’ll share the highlights of what these tools can do for you and whether ContentShake AI is actually worth using!

How the “SEO content brief” feature works
I kicked off my ContentShake AI review by testing how it handles content brief creation.
As a content writer, I always deal with content briefs, some from clients and some I create myself when outsourcing content for my website. But there’s no universal format!
Some clients send me detailed, multi-page briefs with tons of instructions. Others? They just drop a quick email with vague details and expect me to figure it out (please, don’t do this!).
So, I was curious to see if ContentShake AI could make this process easier and faster.
I started with a simple task.
I asked Content Shake AI to create a content brief for this article.
I had already done keyword research and analyzed user intent, so I had a solid idea of what I wanted to include. But doing all this manually takes time. I wanted to see if this tool could speed things up.
You have to complete the following five steps to generate a content brief with Content Shake AI:
- Specify your target keyword
- Select several competitor articles from the recommended ones to provide content examples
- Specify the word count and the title
- Provide at least 3 secondary keywords to be used in the content
- Update the recommended content structure or use it without changes
- Specify meta description
- Review the content brief and share it via Google Docs
It’s a smooth and quick process. I think I spent about five minutes completing all the steps.
Eventually, I’ve got the following content structure for my target keyword. You can update it manually, include the AI-generated paragraphs, or include H2s used by the competitors.

I only used part of the suggested content structure because I had to add some missing keywords.
To find them, I quickly did some keyword research using the Semrush Keyword Magic tool. You can learn more about this tool and how it works in my Semrush review.
I found a few related keywords like:
- ContentShake AI pricing
- Chrome extension
- AI Title Generator
These keywords are all closely tied to the topic, so they need to be included in the article. They are contextually related and will make the article more helpful for users.
If you’re curious about how I do keyword research and write optimized content, I break down my process in my SEO ebook.

Additionally, I always use the Inverted Pyramid method when creating content for my website and clients. This means sharing the most important information first, and then following it up with everything else.
That’s why I don’t think starting with things like an “Overview of AI Writing Tools” or “The Role of AI Content Creation” makes sense for this article. These topics are pretty different and not necessary to cover here.
The main thing users want to know is how the Content Shake AI tool works. Everything else is secondary. If I started off with too many different topics, I’d probably lose their attention right away.
That’s why I left that stuff out while writing this article.
Once I finished all the steps, the tool generated an SEO content brief, which I can easily download or share with anyone via Google Docs.
I think this ContentShake AI feature is really useful for content managers and agencies that are constantly creating content and working with writers.
I’d still recommend adding a personal touch and aligning the brief with user search intent. That’ll help improve the chances of your content ranking higher in search results.

How the “Article from scratch” feature works
Once you’ve put together an SEO content brief, ContentShake AI can take it a step further and help you draft an article based on that brief.
After I clicked on “Generate content,” the editor dashboard opened with the AI assistant to the right. It works similarly to ChatGPT. You can ask questions, give tasks, and update your prompts to get a better output.
I asked the AI chat to generate a 3,000-word article based on my brief.

Since I’ve been working with AI-generated content daily for the past several years, I didn’t expect much from the ContentShake AI chat.
After all, it’s based on Open AI technologies.

I did use bits and pieces from the AI draft, but most of this article was written by me. Hopefully, you can tell the difference! I also create my own images by taking screenshots of the tools I use. This makes my content more helpful and unique, which builds trust with my readers.
ContentShake AI does offer image-generation features. You can also pull images from Unsplash or use ones from search results.
But if you want to hear my opinion, I’d always vote for using unique images that aren’t available elsewhere. This strategy has also helped me gain valuable backlinks from big sites, like HubSpot, which used my custom images and credited my work with a link.

Make sure to fact-check the AI-generated content!
For example, the AI chat suggested that Contentshake AI “primarily focuses on the English language. However, the team is actively working on expanding its language capabilities.”
This isn’t true because the Semrush page states that ContentShake AI can generate content in 7 different languages, including English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.
How the “Article Optimization” feature works
So, you’ve written your article—nice!
Now, it’s time to fine-tune it for better rankings using the Article Optimization feature.
It’s built right into the editor dashboard, so you can optimize your content and watch your content score improve in real time.
The content score is based on a few key things:
- SEO improvements
- Readability
- Tone of voice
Simple, right? Just optimize on your go and publish the content piece whenever it’s ready.

What I liked most about ContentShake AI
I’ve used multiple AI SEO tools and AI marketing tools.
Every time I test a new one, I look for something that makes it special, something that adds real value and sets it apart from the rest.
The first thing that popped up in my mind after reviewing ContentShake AI is that it automates the entire content writing process, including
- Content brief creation
- Content generation
- Images creation
- On-page optimization
- Publication
You can pick competitor ideas to include in your content. You can generate images with AI or choose from existing ones in search results. You can write content from scratch, let AI do the heavy lifting, or even paste competitor content and customize it.
And the best part? All the recommendations are backed up with keyword insights from Semrush to ensure your content piece is optimized for rankings. This means there is no need for extra SEO tools—everything is in one place.
What used to take an entire content team can now be mostly automated. That’s a game-changer.
On top of that, ContentShake AI also helps you come up with fresh content ideas every week related to your niche.
Just set your preferred topics, and you’ll get personalized recommendations.

For me, I’m getting ideas around DIY SEO, SEO writing, content creation, and affiliate marketing. If I see a topic I like, I just click “Generate article,” and it instantly creates a content brief to get me started.
Super handy for anyone who creates content regularly!

Can AI-generated content rank in organic search results?
I’ve talked a lot about using ContentShake AI to create and optimize content, but there’s a bigger question we need to address:
Can AI-generated content actually rank?
From what I’ve seen, the answer is yes!
AI content can rank well in search results, sometimes even pretty high.
And it’s not just my experience.
A recent study by Semrush on Generative AI revealed that 43% of people reported a noticeable boost in rankings thanks to AI.

That pretty much confirms what I’ve observed: AI-generated content does rank, and it’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
Despite what some critics say, Google doesn’t penalize AI content.
In fact, Google doesn’t really care how content is created as long as it’s useful and matches what users are searching for.
According to Google:
“Appropriate use of AI or automation is not against our guidelines. This means that it is not used to generate content primarily to manipulate search rankings, which is against our spam policies.”
So, the problem isn’t AI itself.
The real issue is relying too much on AI and forgetting to add a human touch. Things like personal insights, expertise, and originality can make your content unique and stand out.
I’ve shared my thoughts on AI’s impact on SEO, what’s changing, and how to adapt in my AI SEO trends article.
And if you’re curious about ContentShake AI and want to see if it fits your business, you can test it out with a 7-day free trial. Give it a shot and see how it works for you!
